Borden Classic Cheeseburger
Cook Time
30 minutes
Yield
4 servings
Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 slices Borden Extra Sharp Cheddar Melts
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 Tbsp. mayonnaise
- 8 pickle slices
- 4 slices tomato
- 4 lettuce leaves
- 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
Optional
- Ketchup, mustard, other condiments
Directions
- Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and gently shape them into patties about 3/4-inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up during cooking.
- Season both sides of each patty with salt and pepper.
- Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, add a little oil to prevent sticking.
- Cook the patties for about 4 to 5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Borden Extra Sharp Cheddar Melt on each patty and cover with a lid to melt the cheese.
- While the patties are cooking, toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden brown.
- Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Place 2 pickle slices on top of the mayonnaise. Add a few slices of red onion on top of the pickles. Place the cooked patty with melted cheese on top of the onions. Add a slice of tomato and a leaf of lettuce on top of the cheese. Cover with the top half of the bun.
- Serve the burgers immediately with your favorite sides and condiments.
- Enjoy your delicious cheeseburger with Borden Extra Sharp Cheddar Melts!
